Raspberry Pi touch display 2

The original Raspberry Pi display was launched in 2015. Now, 9 years later, Raspberry Pi has introduced a new version. The old display had a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, while the new one boasts a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The screen size remains 7 inches, meaning the external dimensions are identical to the previous version.

On the back, mounting holes for the Raspberry Pi are again present, but since the controller is now integrated into the display itself, the overall unit is significantly slimmer. Additionally, the Raspberry Pi mounting has been redesigned, so it is now centered behind the screen. The mounting holes for a case have also been updated, so be sure to check the compatibility of your case! (At this time, only the Pimoroni PiBow Frame is compatible!)

This official display from the Raspberry Pi Foundation offers an excellent enhancement for your Raspberry Pi. The possibilities? How about creating a Raspberry Pi tablet or installing the screen in your car as an alternative infotainment system? Or building your own energy monitor or smart home control panel? The options are endless!

The latest drivers support an on-screen keyboard, eliminating the need to plug in a mouse or keyboard.

The mounting brackets on the back of the screen allow you to attach the Raspberry Pi directly to the display.

This version features only one power connection method, using jumper wires.
